Literature Text

"Ad hoc, ad loc and quid pro quo!
So little time, so much to know!"
To quote the little Nowhere Man,
Alone inside his Nowhere Land

Is it peaceful there, Jeremy?
In your Nowhere, seeking clarity?
Your face is blue, expression always merry,
Your lips as red as sun-ripened cherries.

You always smile so genuinely,
While seeking knowledge infinitely,
Jeremy Hillary B, PhD,
Scientist esteemed in the highest degree,

He's fluffy and plushy, like a bunny,
Little and sunny, a darling honey,
Would you like to see the Somewhere someday?
Leaving your Nowhere far away?

Would you go with me, Nowhere Man?
Let's take the yellow sub to Pepperland,
Across the seas of Holes and Green,
And all the spaces in-between.

You helped the Beatles stop the gloom,
That sentenced Pepperland to doom,
I have to say, that was pretty grand,
For someone scared and with no plan.

Jeremy Hillary B, Scholar, Poet, PhD,
I must confess, I can attest-you're the only man for me.
You had always been right there,
When I was lost and searching for a prayer.

You saw seas of holes and green and blue,
You saved the Beatles and you saved me, too.
"Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo!"
I love you, Nowhere Man, you know.
We had to write a sonnet and an ode in my English class for our poetry unit, and while I got the sonnet down very easily, I had trouble with the ode at first. But last night, I watched Yellow Submarine for the first time in years and a ton of memories flooded back to me, one in particular being how fond I was of Jeremy Hillary Boob, PhD; aka The Nowhere Man. It all started out with rhyming couplets, and then it got stupid. Actually, that could be applied to most of my life.

This poem is awesome! I like to sing it to the tune of "The Ad-Dressing of Cats" from CATS.
